BAUXITE

Bauxite is the main raw material used in aluminum production. It is also used as an additive in cement production. Typically, bauxite is classified in terms of its intended application: metallurgical, chemical, cement, etc.

CEMENT

Portland (hydraulic) cement is primarily used for construction as a binder in concrete, mortar, and plaster. It is also used for the manufacturing of concrete products eg bricks and blocks, pavers, roof tiles and pipes. It is typically packaged in 50kg or 25kg bags, as well as bulk in 1 or 2 ton jumbo bags.

CLINKER

Clinker is the main semi-processed material used in the manufacture of Portland cement. Clinker is formed in lumps or nodules, by burning limestone and clay raw materials in cement kilns. Clinker is ground in a mill together with gypsum, to produce Portland cement. It can also be ground together with slag, fly ash, and limestone to produce blended cements.

COAL

Coal is a combustible black or brownish-black sedimentary rock. The harder forms, such as anthracite, can be regarded as metamorphic rock. Coal is composed primarily of carbon along with other elements, namely hydrogen, sulphur, oxygen and nitrogen. Coal is primarily used as a solid fuel to produce heat through combustion.

GYPSUM

Natural Gypsum is a sulphate mineral compound of Calcium Sulphate Dihydrate. It is used primarily for plaster/wallboard and cement production, and also as a soil conditioner in agricultural applications.

IRON FINES

Iron Fines is related to the steel industry. Products range from 55% to 80% total Fe (iron) content. It is commonly used as an additive in cement clinker production.

SLAG

Slag is a by-product of the steel-making process. It is converted to granulated blast furnace slag (GBFS) or ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS). It is commonly used as an extender in the manufacture of blended cements.
